Find Your Own Rhythm Through the Healing Arts

Dear One,

In this wild world, how would it feel to have a devoted Path of Practice using your creativity? A practice that provides direction, motivation, and a focus on your life.

TEMPO is centered on the M-10 Path of Practice, a blend of meditation, movement, mindfulness, metacognition, music, and of course, the Muse!

These practices are meta in the way that they are all happening at once, as well as when you individually practice them.

The idea behind the practice is rooted in the awareness that through our devoted space, time management, and chosen presence, our capacity to live a life we love increases!

Imagine a combination of movement, meditation, music, mixed media, and painting all swirled together to create the perfect tempo for you.

A few inquiries for you...

  • How would being on a path of practice impact your vision for your 'Great Work'?
  • Do you feel you have a 'Great Work'?
  • If so, do you have imagery and language for it?

Our practices are designed to create spaciousness of consciousness in a grounded way of being. This combination of mind and body invites you to experience insight, intuition, and arrival in your own life.

Whether your 'Great Work' is personal or transpersonal, a devoted path of practice is integral to providing clarity around your 'Great Work'.

This is your invitation to tune into deep somatic awareness of your own great unfolding. Exciting right? We think so!

What students are saying about the Intentional Creativity process

ANTHROPAS: Consciously Coherent Human by Katja Warkmester

Anthropas was a beautiful, sometimes breathless sometimes breathfull deep going dive into the mystery and magic of me being human in and with all facets. Connecting me to the long ancestral line and the astonishingly accessible deep inner wisdom for to consciously coherently be, just be... choosing and claiming my fully loving compassionate humanness... and to create out of this with all there is... in any moment right here, right now... honoring what is.

Consciously Coherent Human - Alive and Here by Katja Warkmester Anthropas 2020

ARTIFACT: Dignity painting by Kat Bianchin

I am thankful beyond words for this wonderful and deeply healing experience! My hope was to find a place of dignity and self-worth. The painting process wasn’t easy as all my demons came up; wanting me to stop and hide. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your guiding, nurturing, and protecting presence and teachings, Shiloh Sophia! And thank you to all the wonderful women of this community!

Dignity by Kat Bianchin

The incredible surprise and teaching of this painting were owning my Fierceness. It brought me to the most vulnerable part of myself that was in need of healing, acceptance, and complete surrender to embody the Wisdom of my Oracle. She showed me that Fierceness and Vulnerability were not excluding each other, but on the contrary, that the first when properly owned and acknowledged, was the Sacred guardian of the other, and the Sacred path to self-responsibility.

Painting: "The Guardian" by Virginie Hentzienne 2020 Color of Woman Graduate

The deep dives through every painting assignment really revealed the medicine of Intentional Creativity. I painted more than 13 major paintings in the last 9 months. Each process was an intimate exploration of my internal terrain. Painting in this way has been an anchor to who I choose to be.

Artifact Painting: "Breath Of Creation" by Maasa Craig 2022 Color of Woman Graduate

There has been settling in my bones, an affirming acceptance of who I am, a more enthusiastic embrace of not knowing, and a stronger connection to that inner voice of wisdom. I found the need to encode things that happened in my life during the course into the painting in an even more intentional way than I had done before and it now holds powerful magic for me. I look at it and see who I am and my connection to all that is. And yes, it also still contains mysteries that I have no doubt will unfold in the coming years. Such an amazing, potent, and life-affirming course.

Fireweed Wisdom: Arianwen's Message by Becky Mackeonis

ANTHROPAS: Love & Light by Maëlle André

The Anthropas experience has been better than therapy for me. It was an exceptional adventure, a deep journey inside of me, with an amazing beautiful outcome. I'm grateful to be part of it.

Love & Light by Maëlle André

For anyone considering Intentional Creativity Training, I'd say... Yes Yes Yes! By all means! Jump in, heart first! Know that it takes a deep commitment to yourself and the community you become a part of. It’s like being in cosmic grad school! You may find yourself, like me, expanding and deepening and refining and strengthening yourself beyond what you could imagine! Let yourself be surprised! I never imagined that this kind of healing was possible, but I know it from personal experience! Give yourself this life-changing teacher training and when you feel ready, when you are “Healed Enough”, then like so many of us, you will begin sharing the truth that it is possible for women to heal their own lives.
Oh-and even though I wouldn’t call this a ‘how to teach painting course, my painting skills and intuition to follow my impulses on the canvas have expanded as well!

ALCHEMIST/SoulFire Painting: “Sacred Worth” by Julie Mae Pigott 2021 Color of Woman Graduate

ANTHROPAS: Birth of my new world Sally Holt

In Anthropas, I found a place to untangle from the old beliefs, from the hurt, from the struggle, and prepare myself for birth into a new reality.

Birth of my new world by Sally Holt, Anthropas 2020

Anthropas has been a calling to listen deeply within my own wisdom. A calling to follow that shooting star across the heavens. A calling to remember all of whom I am.

The Calling by Katy Morse

Through the twists and turns, figuratively and literally, came a deeper understanding of the importance of continuing to create spaces within myself and everyday life to dream and make things that matter to me. From life to life, hand to hand, maker to maker, the wisdom is alive and living. I would recommend anyone longing for a deeper understanding of themselves and the world they exist in to undertake the adventure of Artifact!

Dreamweaver: Creating Spaces to Dream By Maree Pilling

I am allowing myself to be seen for who I am, for the first time in my life, out of the closet spiritually. What a wondrous gift this process has been for my female spirit.

Who is she that cometh forth as the morning rising, fair as the moon, bright as the sun, terrible as an army in battle array?

By Leslie McQuaide

Anthropas has been the transformational painting experience of my life beyond anything I could expect. It was an exhilarating magical mystical experience that truly reflect something that has been speaking my whole life from deep within me but I just couldn't grasped. Now, I have a sacred container that is very much alive with all my life experiences from tears to joyful extasis. It is an intiation to a whole new level of being from where I am in total overflow of the gifts that I carried as a true woman. The best part is that SHE will be with me till the last breath of my life and who knows even beyond...

The Cathedral of Hope by Rosamaria Polidura Anthropas 2020

It was an extraordinary immersive experience that moved me into the very center of my own unique tumbling rushing river of consciousness.

Requiem by Cassielle Bull, Anthropas 2020

WHY TEMPO?

Discover the hum, yum, drum, and fun of Intentional Creativity as a Path of Practice, to feel and live into your very own personal tempo!

What do you mean by Tempo? Tempo is Italian for time. For our purposes we are establishing a tempo for your path of practice, using the word as a metaphor for the way you work your own sense of time and timing.

Tempo quite literally means, time in the Latin tempus meaning time, season, or portion of time. And in music Tempo can be defined as the pace or speed at which a section of music is played. Tempos, or tempi, help the composer to convey a feeling of either intensity or relaxation. We can think of the tempo as the speedometer of the music. Typically, the speed of the music is measured in beats per minute (bpm) the speed at which you tap your foot along to the music.

TEMPO Invites Duality. The Fluidity of the notes, and the Structure of the song. At MUSEA your unique way of creation is celebrated. TEMPO invites ALL OF YOU to be expressed in beautiful Harmony.

CORE BENEFITS

When you embody the M-10 Practice, you develop amazing resiliency for the journey ahead. Here is what you will receive both during and on the other side of TEMPO:

  • Self-Care: Uncovers your innate somatic rhythm to boost your physical and mental health by choice.
  • Resiliency: Establishes a go-to resilience response method based on the combination of creativity and choice so you can process emotions, breakdowns, and breakthroughs.

Shared Experiences from Students of Intentional Creativity

"I am overwhelmed with joy, excitement, tears, and love. I have treated my body so mean for so long, danced with addiction, and struggled with major body image issues for decades. There are no words to accurately describe just how much Shiloh Sophia's work has impacted my life and helped my body heal. Painting is unwinding what has been held deep within my cells. I am blown away and completely surprised by the impact this has had on my body, and on my life. It was the Great Spirit that brought me to her, to all of you. I am forever grateful and look forward to more Intentional Creativity journey together."

~ Megan Zaback 2023

"This has been such an amazing experience. I have begun to have fun again and not take things so seriously. I am baffled at how I have only been part of this community for a few weeks and yet feel as though I have been here all my life. Interacting with our tribe has given me a sense of belonging and I don’t feel as lonely. The community is so supportive every time I post something and I truly enjoy uplifting others in the process. I am noticing that I’m ok…that I can rise from my past with a greater purpose. I notice that I am way too hard on myself and that it is ok for me to take my time and be gentle with myself. Above everything, I have noticed and accepted that I am part of something so much bigger than myself… a movement of healing the masses!"

CURRICULUM + PRACTICES

Intentional Creativity®
TEMPO M-10 PATH OF PRACTICE

Our curriculum for TEMPO is rooted in the M-10 Path of Practice. Our philosophy is a regenerative self-chosen pathway to move towards what matters to you. There is a build and it isn't linear, yet there are signposts and A-ha's along the way that leads to the next phase of our journey as we gain momentum. The foundation of the practice is what creates momentum and motivation.

25 years of research contributes to this course, yet it is still in a great mystery. Each of our paths is unique, therefore each experience will be unique to us.

This is your time for you. Your tempo. Your loves. Your passionate self-expression. Your chance to lean into your own Great Work through a choice to spend time in devotion. Discover the profound beauty, fun, and pleasure of the Intentional Creativity approach through our devoted practice that includes connection to

  • MUSE
  • MAKING
  • MYTHOS
  • MUSICAL
  • MOVEMENT
  • MINDFUL
  • MEDITATION
  • METACOGNITION
  • MOTIVATION
  • MAGO.

While there is A LOT of mystery in our work with Intentional Creativity, we have a very clear structure, a sacred container to arise in together. We find that structure and pattern create access to greater flow in our lives. We honor duality - both/and vs either/or.

Your canvas will be your drum. A Big canvas. Scissors. Glue. Sheets of Music. Acrylic Paint. Ink. Acrylic transfer. Tattered prayers. Tickets from late-night rendezvous. Collage. Poetry/Song

PLUS Enjoy the Inspired Inquiries of Jenafer Joy as a way to integrate the material to an even deeper level. Working with intuitive collage, scissors, glue, and fun!

Time to get your booty moving to the TEMPO! I never imagined I would want to teach an exercise class lol – and while this isn’t an exercise in the classic sense, we will each be finding our own innate body rhythm, building our stamina, and stretching. I will show you things I do every day to keep my body humming. There will be many invitations to movement – including understanding your meditation and painting practice as a form of movement.

Dive Deeper into TEMPO

Tempo begins with Orientation Videos featuring our ten practices so you can work with them throughout the entire six-month course.

What will your Muse reveal about your tempo?

MAKING

Enjoy creating a mixed-media and contemplative work of art on canvas as a place to process everything that is coming up for you in your life.

What will you make?

MYTHOS

You are living your own story of yourself. For many of us, that story is unconscious. Let's make it conscious through being at cause for our own stories.

What story will you tell?

MUSICAL

You will be invited to sing, hum, drum, and find your own internal rhythm and tempo.

What is the song of your soul?

MOVEMENT

Moving your body will be an invitation to become truly conscious each day of how you are moving about...

What will be liberated as you move?

MINDFUL

Explore the concept, End of Suffering, as it relates to your relationship with the temporal timeline. How you think, feel and act regarding the passing of time is impacting how you live now

What will mindfulness bring forth and how will it inform your brain-heart connection?

MEDITATION

Engage in a dedicated meditation practice. This isn’t the classic 'be still and clear your mind' meditation. This is an active meditation to create coherence and connection between your inner world and your outer world.

How will meditation inform your nervous system?

METACOGNITION

Metacognition is thinking about thinking - we work with this approach as a way to activate the observer effect with our creative process. We watch what we create as we create it and discover so much!

What will your observer show you?

MOTIVATION

A devoted and disciplined practice that takes time actually liberates time, it is one of those riddles in life. You will be prompted and dared to take actions in your life based on our practices.

What will your motivation request?

MAGO

Ah last... but not least, the Mago. The magician is a conjurer of transformation. The one who alchemizes and activates.

Mago is the keeper of your Great Work project, the archetypal presence of the part of you that KNOWS that you are bringing to life a story that deeply matters to you.

ART as the
ACCESS to your INNER WORLD

The Core Foundation of TEMPO is creating a big painting. You will paint but this isn't about being a painter or an artist or having skill at painting at all. No experience is needed, really, we will show you everything you'll need. This is about the consciousness that becomes available as you create.

Self-expression leads to deeper levels of awareness, passion, power, and the capacity to live our lives. Instead of mindfulness as the only way to get to know what is happening in your inner world, we use painting as the 'space' to explore ourselves.

Imagine having a place to go with all of your emotions, sensations, breakdowns, and breakthroughs - yep, your canvas serves as a portal to discover, process, and explore it all.

Who We Are
The Intentional Creativity Credo

MATERIALS

The painting materials for TEMPO will be acrylic paint and a big canvas. We use mostly liquid with one heavy body white. Brushes of all sizes, a spray bottle plus a cuppa tea for the MUSE

PAINTING of YOUR MYTHIC ARCHETYPE

Your painting will be totally unique to YOU. Each painting will include your personal mythic journey throughout our time together. You will be guided through the six-month process with prompts and dares, but the content will be entirely yours.

The painting will be a mythic image of your Great Work and the Archetype that brings forth that great work. If your Great Work was the cover of a book or a feature in Vogue and Science Magazine, or it was a movie in theaters across the world - what would that image be?

This is you creating THAT image. A clear, true, daring dive into the imagery and symbology that accompanies your great work in the world.

MEET YOUR GUIDE CURATOR SHILOH SOPHIA

Hi there, it's me, Shiloh! I am excited you are here. I did the drawing and writing, and designing of this page so you can imagine that I am speaking right to you!

That's how Intentional Creativity works - as I create I am quite literally listening to the pulse of what is needed and allowing beauty to flow through. I am also delighted to team up with my friends, including Lavender Grace and Gary Malkin to bring you a sacred music experience and teaching for you to explore your own tempo.

We have all been through a few years of great change, and many unapparelled hardships. Regardless of what you personally experienced, you were likely connected to a big unfolding story happening all around you. I truly honor being connected to the collective as important, and sacred, and has been a part of my work for close to thirty years. Yet when I ‘tune into the field’ as I have been, and I listen really close, and I ask how I can serve, the answer is clear:

Create experiences where people can reconnect with themselves in deeply meaningful ways through consistent practice.

I hear the call and I am saying YES! I have created TEMPO as a way to offer a gift of love, presence, and a deeply passionate and compassionate creative process.

I am truly looking forward to sharing my approach to a creative spiritual practice with all of you.

MEMORY & MANAGEMENT

The key to ANY successful practice is structure – sacred time and space to do what matters to you. We will work together towards your conscious connection with time and instead of developing a ‘have to’ you develop a ‘want to’, have to, because your body is asking you to honor your practice. There is a natural URGE to time as sacred, the tempo of your temple is unique to you. Yet what is common to all of us is that if we do not create the temporal time date with the Muse, we won’t show up or we will make an excuse or feel behind victim stuff. Let’s get over it and on with it. Managing your time on a calendar helps improve memory for other parts of your life.

"People will forget what you said and what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel.”

– Maya Angelou

A Focus on Pleasure

While so many of our classes here at MUSEA focus on healing and depth work, I want TEMPO to focus on pleasure and possibility, and self-nurturing through a devoted path of practice. This path of practice leads us to explore our great work. For me, knowing I have a daily practice and a weekly larger arc of practice literally makes all the difference in my life. Pleasure and play also lead to healing – we don’t always have to go directly to the wound to build resilience – enjoying ourselves over a period of time is incredibly lovely and freeing.

For those new to Intentional Creativity, this will be a great introduction to the work and how to use it. We have been developing this path of practice for over 25 years, so we are a seasoned pathway for those seeking refuge in their art and community.

For those who have been with us for 1, 10, or 20 years, this will be a one-stop-shop for all things foundational to the Intentional Creativity approach.

For those who are graduates, this will be an incredible mix of teachings that you can bring to your guests. Anything taught here can be taught and shared by any of our graduates and modified to your thematic framework.

How does that sound to you? Pleasure anyone?

This can be your GO-TO tool for Resilience.

Is creativity only for those who have enough space, time, and clarity of mind?

Could working in this method support a more expansive consciousness potentially for those who are experiencing challenges right now?

And who isn't?

My truth is that I want Intentional Creativity to be a GO-TO in the medicine basket of every parent, teacher, therapist, and healer. In the middle of a crisis or chaos when we don't know what to do because it feels impossible - if we can ''go to the page" then we know we can take part in changing our state. By state, I mean how someone feels in the moment. We know it reduces stress. We know it works almost instantly to make a shift. We know it is calming. We know it creates a pathway to chosen transformation.

Intentional Creativity is an ideal resilience response to crisis and chaos. It is available, at the moment, if you know how to choose it. It can create clarity and a state change very quickly. It expands intelligence and access to Choice. While we may think we can’t use it if we are running from the proverbial tiger; I propose the inquiry of, what if we can?

Creativity is more than art; it is thought causation made manifest. What if creativity is what shows us the pathway to take when we are running? What if creativity is what I was using at different times when I was about to lash out but didn't because of my creative response? What if creativity is what my family used when we created safe houses for women who were on the run, even when we had barely enough food ourselves? What if creativity is what my mother and grandmother used when those seeking safe harbor needed money so we provided work until they could get on their feet? Somehow it worked, and the thread of love was what stitched it all together.

So yes, Creativity is a valid response to crisis and chaos. Yes, working with creativity as a doctor, healer and shaman can relieve some of the pressure for you to have all the solutions and invite your clients to create their own solutions. Yes, for those working in offices, home studios, cafes, and gas stations. This is for anyone and everyone. And it can be as simple as a pen and paper, or hands in space. Truly.
